The media landscape is changing - we live in exciting times. The power to shape opinion is shifting from the faceless editorial voice of magazines and newspapers to individuals. To chronicle that shift, we created the SAY 100 last year - and today we're excited to announce announce a new SAY 100 for 2012.
Among the disruptors in this new media landscape: The Men's Style and Gear channel is curated by Eric Yang and Ben Bowers, founders of Gear Patrol. On Gear Patrol, Eric and Ben favor thoughtfully designed products with an eye for craftsmanship – which is true of their SAY 100 picks as well. You'll find familiar faces on their list like Michael Williams of A Continuous Lean and Jesse Cohen of Put This On, plus up-and-comers like Brad Bennett of Well Spent and Cory Ohlendorf of Valet. The incredibly talented Joanna Goddard of Cup of Jo has chosen 10 amazing voices in the Parenting channel including Pilar Guzman and Yolanda Edwards of Momfilter and Jenny Komenda of Little Green Notebook.
We also have a channel devoted to a bold new generation of Mobile creators, curated by Taylor Wimberley of Android and Me; a Business channel curated by Dan Frommer of ReadWriteWeb; and a Fashion channel with picks from Erica Chan Coffman of Honestly...WTF. Richard MacManus of ReadWriteWeb curates our Technology channel, and Amanda Hesser of Food52 curates the Food channel which includes the incredible Pippa Lord of Sous Style. Jane Pratt of xoJane curates our Style channel that includes the prodigously talented Leandra Medine of Man Repeller and Emily Weiss of Into the Gloss among others. And that's just a small taste of the influential voices you'll find on the SAY 100. (You can read the official press release here.)
We built the SAY 100 site to let you explore and discover the voices that are shaping opinion and disrupting the landscape of new media - and our curators have written brief notes about why these voices matter. Wherever possible we've brought in headlines of their latest posts so that you can click through to their site and engage with their content directly.
On the SAY 100 home page, you'll also find daily updates about what's new around the SAY 100, so we hope you check back often.
Explore, enjoy – and let us know what you think.
