Meet Kath Younger of Kath Eats Real Food
Kath Younger is one of the newer additions to the Voices program, and I think I speak for all of us when I say we are STOKED. Not only is she a registered dietitian, avid runner, talented amateur photographer, and soon-to-be business owner, but she brings all of these elements to her blog in an approachable, refreshing way: No crazy cleanses, no preachy manifestos on home-grown-organic-macrobiotic-Harvard-educated produce, no crazy exercise routines. Kath has an informed and practical approach to healthy living, and shares everything from tasty (easy!) dinner recipes to travel advice. We love her (and her recipe for sweet potato gnocchi), and you will too.
“I started Kath Eats Real Food after losing weight and realizing how delicious and filling real food can be.”
In March 2006, Kath began blogging as she set out to lose 30 pounds. At the request of family and friends 18 months later, she decided to start a photo blog of recipes and meals, following her life through breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
In 2008, Kath embarked on a three-year journey to become a Registered Dietitian through the program at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. She completed her internship through Winthrop and became an RD in August 2010.
Today, with over 15,000 daily followers, Kath loves sharing everything from beautiful salads and fancy dinners to household organization and travel with her virtual friends.
This summer, Kath and her husband will be opening their own bread bakery, called Great Harvest, in Charlottesville, VA.
